Are we allowed to make an archival recording of a past production available for streaming or online viewing?

Unfortunately, streaming and online viewing rights aren’t available from Concord Theatricals for most shows. These rights are not held or controlled by Concord Theatricals, and we will have to send your proposal to the author’s representatives for approval on a case-by-case basis. We understand that many of these requests will be time-sensitive, and we will do our best to assist. There is absolutely no guarantee of this permission being granted.

If you wish to request approval to make an archival video available for streaming or online viewing, please email the following information to the appropriate address below. Please note that if you did not have a licence to create an archival recording, we will not be able to grant permission for you to stream this unauthorised recording.

  • Your licence number.
  • Title of the show.
  • Name of your group.
  • Original performance dates.
  • Proof that you received permission to create the archival video.
  • What is the estimated number of viewers of the archival recording?
  • What qualifies a patron to view the archival recording (current ticketholder, theatre subscriber, etc.)?
  • How is your organisation’s infrastructure set up to handle this distribution (password-protected link, etc.)?
  • How do you plan to protect the archival recording from public release?
  • Would there be any additional income or revenue generated from this stream?
