To apply for additional digital rights, (livestreaming or recording and digital distribution rights in addition to live stage performance rights) please complete the standard application form and answer the additional questions specific to digital rights in the Performance Details section. The standard questions should be answered with information related to your in-theatre performance for live audience, and the Digital rights questions for the recording/streaming rights only. If you are not given the option to apply for Digital rights, these rights may not be available for this title.
Note: For digital rights requests, please answer “No” to the Virtual Performances question.
The questions asked in the application will be:
Are you seeking permission for digital rights in addition to traditional in-theatre performance rights (e.g., livestreaming of performances, recording for digital distribution to audiences)? PLEASE NOTE: THESE RIGHTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR ALL TITLES. [Select yes for digital rights]
What is the estimated number of viewers for the digital rights? (This is the additional number of viewers who will access the performance via livestream/recording only.)
What qualifies a patron to access the digital rights (ticketholder for live production, subscriber, etc.)?
How would you handle distribution of the digital rights (password-protected link, hard copy DVD, etc.)?
How do you plan to protect the digital rights from public release?
Would there be any additional income or revenue generated from the digital rights?
How many live performances would be captured in connection with the digital rights?
If you are not granted approval for additional digital rights, are you still interested in proceeding with live performances?
Once you have submitted your request, please allow time for your licensing representative to review the information and ask for appropriate clearances from the author(s) and/or their representatives. If the request has been approved, your licensing representative will issue your performance agreement and a digital rights addendum via email.
PLEASE NOTE: Your performance agreement will not be issued until your licensing representative has received a response regarding your digital rights request.
