We hope to make the process of licensing straightforward, quick, and uncomplicated. Every production is different and licensing requirements vary show-by-show.
Below, you’ll find a basic walk-through on how to apply for rights through our website. If you have additional questions, contact your Licensing Representative.
Step One
Please enter the title into the search box on www.concordtheatricals.co.uk.
Once you’ve found a show that you are interested in presenting, click on the title to open the “Perform” page for that show. You will find a “Request License” button on the right-hand side. Click on this button to start your application.
Step Two
You will be asked to fill out three required contact fields:
- Producing Organisation
- Billing Organisation
- Venue
These three contacts must be filled in. If your venue information is tentative, please enter your ideal performance space. If your venue information changes after you have submitted your application, then please email your Licensing Representative.
You must be an approved member of the Producing and Billing Organisations in order to submit applications with their information.
A note on adding Producing and Billing Organisation details:
- This will need to be the name of the organisation who is producing and/or paying for the licence. In most cases this will be the same in both cases so adding the information to ‘Producing Organisation’ will automatically add it to ‘Billing Organisation’ on the application. If you need one to be different, please ‘add new’ rather than ‘Edit’ details as ‘Edit’ will change the details in both places.
- If you are applying for the first time for an organisation who is already registered with us, someone in the organisation who has applied before will have to approve you before you can proceed any further and they will receive email notification to do so. Please nudge your organisation if you do not hear back that you have been approved within a few days.
- If you are registering a new organisation, this will have to be approved internally by Concord Theatricals. Please note if your organisation is already registered we are unable to approve it added again as new. Please allow up to five working days for a new organisation to be approved.
Once you are approved to proceed from the Organisation Details section, you will be able to complete the application.
The same contact may be used for multiple fields if it is appropriate. Producing and Billing organisations are often the same.
Step Three
Once you submit your organisation details, you will be prompted to fill in your production details.
The exact details requested in the application can vary by title, but you should be prepared with:
- your proposed production dates
- number of performances
- venue seating capacity
- range of ticket prices
Please provide as much detail as possible beyond the required fields. The more information we have from you, the better we will be able to represent your needs when discussing your application with the author or their agent.
Upon submitting your licensing application, you will receive an email confirmation which will include your Licensing Representatives’ email address. If any details of your application change, you do not need to re-apply. Simply email your Licensing Representative with any updates, and they will be able to assist you.
