Why can’t I apply for rights more than 18 months before the show will be performed?

Once a licensing application has been approved, it is exceedingly rare that we would ever need to revoke that permission. As restrictions can change frequently, our 18-month application policy was established to protect theatres from the potential of having a licence withdrawn thereby forcing the cancellation of a production.
