We’re applying to perform at the Edinburgh Festival, we need a licence but won’t have a confirmed venue until later, how do we apply?

Our licence application process requires that you specify a venue and seating capacity, however we realise in the case of Edinburgh Festival applications, this may not yet be known.

When applying, please put one of the venues you are applying for and we recommend you add the seating capacity for the largest space you expect to perform in. This way, the price quoted to you if your licence request is approved will be the maximum royalty fee you are likely to pay and you can budget accordingly.

We do not expect the licence to be fully executed (signed and paid for) until you have confirmation you are performing at the festival, however you should apply for a licence well in advance of your Fringe application to allow us time to confirm the rights are available for your chosen title.

If your licence request is approved and you are successful in gaining a slot at the festival, please confirm the venue details to us as soon as you have them so we can amend and reissue the agreement with the correct details for you to then execute.
